Last year, I designed the Christmas Luncheon invite for the Westside Guild of the Ararat Home, and this year I had the pleasure of doing it again. While they were very happy with last year’s invitation, the one I designed this year is more sophisticated after getting to know the client more. Last year, the color palette was green and gold instead of going the predictable red and green route for Christmas cards. This year, they wanted to go with a gold, silver, and black color palette with an emphasis on ornaments and Christmas decorations. Most of the design work actually lies more in the content than the actual cover of the Christmas invite. When an event like this involves so many people, it can sometimes come down to figuring out where to put all the information on the card and how to fit everyone in it.
